5.04 kW Grid-tied Photovoltaic System with Sanyo HIT 210s
(View Fat Spaniel Real-time Monitoring System)
With only 6 weeks until school was to begin, Western Solar was contracted to install a 5,040 watt upgrade to school's existing 1 kW system that was donated previously by Puget Sound Energy and Bonneville Power. The system includes (24) of the extremely high efficient Sanyo HIT 210 Watt Solar Modules with a SMA SunnyBoy 5000 Inverter. In order to match the look and profile of the existing system we custom fabricated a building integrated, alumimun sub-structure, that tied into the third story structural I-beams. Due to the panels location over the main entrance to the school, we also developed a custom aircraft cable safety line that would secure the modules from falling if they were to ever come loose during the 25 year of the system. Overall the system has been performing at around 100% efficiency during the peak summer months.
