Solar LED Streetlighting Systems

 

Western Solar worked with Sol Inc. of Florida, and Taurus Industries of Olympia, to provide (15) Solar LED Streetlighting Systems to the Mason County Department of Transportation.  The lighting systems were purchased using Federal Stimulus Funding for safety improvements to twelve county intersections where no lights existed and no grid power was available.  Each system consisted of a 500 watt solar array mounted on a 35' streetlight pole, with a 20 watt LED Lighting System, and a enough battery back-up to provide dusk to dawn power even during the shortest days of the year here in Washington. 

This project is being carefully reviewed by the Washington Department of Transportation, so keep your eyes open and you may see several of these springing up around the state.
