We are seeking to add a Solar PV Technician to our growing team.

Job Description:

Western Solar is in search of an Administrative Support/Solar Advocate! We are looking for a proactive and team-oriented person to help ensure our day-to-day activities run smoothly, and provide an outstanding level of service for our customers. This position will be integral to our small office with administrative support to the Office Manager, Director of Operations, and Director of Business Development. 

This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with WA State Solar industry leaders and is a foot in the door for long-term solar industry career development.

Job duties include:

  • Interacting with customers and potential customers including greeting visitors to our office, answering phone calls and emails
  • Administrative project support via updating spreadsheets, completing and processing all customer paperwork, uploading and sharing install information and documents
  • Acting as liaison to various utility companies that serve our customers
  • Creating and organizing job files for on-site use for each installation
  • Coordinate electric/building permit purchases and scheduling inspections
  • Opening, sorting, scanning, and distributing incoming correspondence including mail, faxes, and email and sending outgoing packages and other mail
  • After appropriate training and time, explaining overall solar system function and installation process to prospective customers
  • Assist Office Manager with general office duties
  • Other unique tasks on a case-by-case basis

Our ideal candidate has the following:

  • Prior experience in an office setting and customer service
  • Competence using a computer (Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Google Suite)
  • Outstanding attention to detail, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexible and positive attitude
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to independently manage their time per workload
  • AA or BA/BS degree preferred
  • Two professional references

Previous experience in or knowledge of solar energy is preferred but not required. This is a permanent, full time position with hours of Monday through Thursday, 7:30am to 4:30 pm and Friday from 8am-noon (40hrs total). Overtime weekend and evening hours are also optional for special events.

Compensation:

Compensation is hourly in the range of $16 to $19 per hour depending on qualifications. Our employee benefits for full time staff include an annual continued education allowance of $1,000, medical/dental/vision insurance after 60 days, paid holidays (eight days) and 401(k) match after 90 day trial period. Paid time off begins at one year with the company. Western Solar also provides Christmas/Annual bonuses at management’s discretion for all employees.
