Customer Service Specialist

Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to act as the hub of communication and coordination at Western Solar, ensuring a seamless experience for customers and internal teams. This role also supports marketing campaigns, social media outreach, and event planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Warmly greet and direct visitors, answer incoming calls and receive packages professionally and efficiently.
  • Notify appropriate team members and/or initiate processes for visitors, calls, and deliveries.
  • Maintain a professional, organized and welcoming front office environment.
  • Monitor general inboxes and voicemail to ensure prompt responses.
  • Contact new leads to conduct initial discovery calls, understand needs and explain the sales process.
  • Schedule in-person site visits for sales team members.
  • Enter new leads, service tickets, and phone call details into HubSpot (CRM) as appropriate.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and provide solutions for frequently asked questions, first level support, with clear, professional communication.
  • Create and manage contacts, deals and service tickets within our CRM per company processes.
  • Support customers with front-end service requests and status updates.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer communication and internal processes.
  • Work with team to create and publish engaging blog, newsletter, and social media content.
  • Collaborate with team members to align marketing content with company goals.
  • Track and report engagement metrics to refine content strategies.
  • Support event promotion and outreach to strengthen customer connections.
  • Support executive staff as requested.
  • All roles require flexibility and contain other job duties as our team requires.

Physical Requirements:

Occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 20lbs, remain seated or standing for extended periods of time (up to 9 hours), perform tasks in a dynamic environment with frequent interruptions and distractions. Use standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and printers for prolonged periods.

Requirements:

  • 2 years of customer service experience
  • Multi-tasking / ability to concurrently work on several ongoing projects
  • Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite
  • Effective written and verbal communications

Preferred Experience:

  • College preferred
  • Experience or degree in graphic design
  • Solar-specific education or certificates
  • Experience with Slack, HubSpot, and WordPress

Compensation:

Pay range is $20-$24/hour depending on experience. Medical/Dental/Vision, paid time off, and 401k benefits are offered to all full-time employees. Western Solar offers a $1,000/year educational stipend for authorized continuing education classes/course material.
