I manage Western Solar’s Development. From leading our sales team, marketing efforts, community engagement, corporate relationships and building our short/long-term growth. As with many small businesses I wear a lot of hats so my day to day varies a lot! I often will be out meeting with customers and assessing their sites. Meeting with folks and talking about solar just never gets old. I really enjoy the nitty gritty technical side of the industry and sharing that with our customers is a lot of fun.
What’s your favorite part about working here?
My coworkers are creative, passionate, and really fun people to boot. They inspire me everyday. The solar industry in general is a really wonderful place to work. Western Solar has always been supportive of community engagement and through the Western Solar Initiative we have been able to get solar on many non-profits that would otherwise not be able to afford it. That really means a lot to me. I feel very fortunate to work at a local business that shares my social values.
What’s your biggest achievement to date (either personal or professional)?
While volunteering on the board of Solar Installers of Washington may not be an achievement, I am very proud of the work we are doing with regards to Solar Policy/Legislation in Washington State. It is exciting to be laying the legislative groundwork that will impact Washington State and the PNW for decades to come.
How do you typically spend your time outside of work?
I really enjoy staying active and busy exploring the North Cascades. I love all sorts of activities from ski touring, mountain biking, climbing, playing hockey and soccer to gardening, reading, and playing tabletop games with friends.
And finally, while this may be cliche — what’s your favorite quote?
“It is no manner of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society” – Krishnamurti
