Brandon's goals & philosophy

Brandon Provalenko is a seasoned leader at Western Solar, bringing over a decade of experience in renewable energy and global business strategy.

After entering the solar industry in 2011, Brandon first specialized in off-grid battery systems, where he gained extensive experience guiding the transition from lead-acid to lithium technologies. This unique background enables him to select the most advanced and reliable energy storage solutions for his customers. With a background as a U.S. Marine Corp Scout and a graduate degree from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, Brandon blends discipline, strategic thinking, and innovation to drive growth and sustainability at Western Solar.

Brandon is passionate about making clean, reliable energy accessible for homes and businesses across the Pacific Northwest. As a leader, he focuses on building strong teams and delivering exceptional service, using his global business expertise to guide the company’s mission.

Outside of work, Brandon serves on the boards of Washington Solar Energy Industries Association (WASEIA) and Sustainable Connections, and volunteers with Mt. Baker Ski Patrol, staying deeply engaged with his community. For fun, he enjoys skiing, backpacking, traveling, and attending concerts. Brandon has one daughter, who is engaged to be married, and is looking forward to the next chapter in his family’s journey.

Most Rewarding Solar Project

“In the spring of 2025, Western Solar began work with the Swinomish Indian Tribal Council to install solar energy, SPAN smart panels, and Tesla Powerwall 3 systems with expansion packs across 15 apartments and 6 cottages.

While Western Solar’s team of experts led the design and installation from start to finish, this project is especially meaningful to me because of my own passion for battery technology, which I developed during my years at OutBack Power Technologies. I’ve spent much of my career focused on installing energy storage after the grid went down due to an emergency. Proactively installing solar and batteries within the community prior to an emergency will deliver resiliency that few communities can compete with, which is why this installation stands out as a personal favorite.

Each home now has 26 kilowatt-hours of backup energy, giving residents reliable power during outages and more control over how and when they use electricity. Beyond that, the community participates in Puget Sound Energy’s Flex Battery Program, which allows them to share stored energy with the grid when it’s needed most. It’s a win for the families, a win for the community, and a step toward a stronger, more resilient energy future. This project perfectly reflects what drives me, leveraging cutting-edge solar and storage technologies to build energy independence right here in our backyard.”
