The PV Technician will be responsible for solar PV system installation from beginning to end. This position covers installation of all photovoltaic mounting system components, assisting with electrical equipment, and ensuring successful operation of complete photovoltaic systems, while proficiently communicating and updating project status with other staff. This is an outdoor position requiring work on elevated roofs, in harness, in inclement weather, throughout the year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Job sites are in Whatcom, Skagit, King, Snohomish, Island, and San Juan Counties. Home office is in Bellingham, WA.<\/p>\n<h3>Responsibilities:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Complete projects within established policies and procedures.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Complete projects within timeframes and budgets.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maintain high levels of quality assurance and quality control with an emphasis on crew safety.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ensure installation vehicle has all materials, tools, and equipment to perform job safely and efficiently.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assemble the solar array racking, properly seal all roof penetrations, and install all relative equipment.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Work exceptionally well with others and provide leadership for the installation crew.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions and operational issues.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Communicate with customers in a professional, considerate, and respectful manner, answering all questions and complaints to the best of your ability.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Work closely with electricians to ensure efficient installation of electrical components.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ensure that the job site is kept in clean and professional manner.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maintain all project documentation, permits, manuals, and warranty information while ensuring documents distributed to the proper departments.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maintain communication with project scheduler and prepare for upcoming projects, ensuring all parts and equipment are available and ready for installation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prepare completed projects for final electrical and structural inspections.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Requirements:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Must have full range of mobility in upper and lower body; ability to work in various positions and environments.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ability to lift, pull and push materials and equipment weighing approximately 50 pounds on a regular basis.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Professional in appearance, with excellent customer service skills.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Great attention to detail.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Valid WA Driver\u2019s License and clean driving record required.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maintain either 01\/02 electrical license or an electrical trainee card.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Preferred Experience:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1+ years(s) of roofing experience.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Electrical experience preferred.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Experience complying with OSHA safety requirements and regulations.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>About Western Solar:<\/h3>\n<p>Western Solar is a locally owned and operated independent solar contractor in Bellingham, Washington and one of the top installers in the Pacific Northwest.
